Comparative Analysis of Regression Models for Quantile Prediction Using Pinball Loss

V Rajanikanth Tatiraju, Dr. Rohita Yamaganti

The performance of three regression models, namely Lagrangian Asymmetric-vTwin Support Vector Regression (SVR), Standard SVR, and Linear Regression, is examined and compared in this study. The models are tested using various quantiles of Pinball Loss, α = 0.1, 0.5, and 0.9, in addition to more conventional metrics such as RMSE and MAE. Pinball Loss values specific to each quantile were used to evaluate the models' performance after training and testing on a regression dataset to forecast the lower, median, and higher quantiles. .

Integrating Data Mining with Deep Rule Learning for an Intelligent Healthcare Prediction System

Akancha Agrawal, Dr. Shweta Rai

CrossRef DOI URL : https://doi.org/10.31426/ijesti.2025.5.1.5012

The application of data mining techniques to nursing informatics and clinical prediction is one area that this study aims to explore. Due to the extensive use of computerized systems in the healthcare industry and the fast advancement of digital technology, a tremendous quantity of patient and clinical data is acquired and preserved every day. A great deal of data has been collected and stored as a result of this. Data evaluation and insight extraction are both made more challenging by the sheer amount and complexity of the data. .

Optimized Resource Allocation Strategies in Wireless Sensor Networks: A Heuristic and Simulation-Based Approach

Amit Kumar, Dr. Deepak Prasad

CrossRef DOI URL : https://doi.org/10.31426/ijesti.2025.5.1.5013

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are the wireless, self-organized sensors that gather data and remotely transmit to the sink. These networks have several resource limitations such as energy, bandwidth, computation, and memory. Rational allocation of such limited resources is the key to maximizing these valuable resources, extending the lifetime of the network and reliable data transmission and sensing coverage. This paper discusses the main challenges for minimizing energy consumption, controlling allocation of communication bandwidth to prevent collisions, and for bypassing processing limitations..

Indian Pharmaceutical Companies' Approach to API Sourcing and Procurement Risk Management

Kiran Patil, Dr. Mukesh Singh

CrossRef DOI URL : https://doi.org/10.31426/ijesti.2025.5.1.5014

Management of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) sourcing and procurement risks in the Indian pharmaceutical industry. Research techniques from both descriptive and exploratory approaches make up the study's mixed-method methodology. Professionals in the fields of procurement, supply chain management, and regulatory affairs fill out a self-administered quantitative survey and participate in semi-structured qualitative interviews. Utilizing stratified random sampling, the data is compiled. Tactical, purposeful sampling was employed with the target population; thus, participants were not restricted. Question types included semi-structured and fully-structured interviews for open-ended inquiries, as well as dichotomous and attitude questions using Likert, ordinal, and nominal scales for quantitative data collection..
